CHA Recap - Day One

Well the fun has officially begun!
We are in sunny California and spent the day today in classes getting sneak peeks at new products, meeting fun scrappy friends, and learning how to use our goodies in new ways.
We were both lucky enough to get into Tim Holtz's class this morning.  We love taking Ranger classes - not only do you learn so many cool things but Ranger is also one of the most generous companies out there.  When we first walked into the class, we were excited to see his brand new Ornate Metal Flip Frame sitting on the table...along with a whole lot of other goodies (they are seriously generous!).  Tim talked a lot about how distress doesn't have to mean grungy (whattttttttttttttttt????) and how it is great to mix the old with the new.  Honestly, Tim is an incredible teacher.  Very organized and everything goes off without a hitch.

And then, he shared with us Ranger's big release this year - Cracked Pistachio!

It is a brand new, GORGEOUS colour!  And...they will be releasing one brand new colour every month for the next year!  And they will be releasing it in all the mediums - distress paint, distress stain spray, distress ink and reinker, distress stain, and distress marker.  And......... we each got to take one of each home with us!!

Also included in our brand new unreleased goodies - a beautiful stamp set!  And since we got two....maybe we will have to give one away?  Stay tuned!...

Up next, Ivy headed off to have  a class with Sizzix while I headed off to Dina Wakley's class.  Ivy got to play with several of the Sizzix designers and several different dies.

In Dina's class, we played with limited supplies (on purpose) and created a very unique art piece. Dina strongly encouraged us to go back to our stores and teach it and so I am pretty sure I will do that!  Here is a sneak peek:

We then headed off for some more fun - Ivy got to play with Dyan Reavley and her new paints.  One of the best things about CHA is how we go into a class thinking we don't need the products...and then you play with them and add them to your "must buy" list!!  Ivy says we definitely need these new paints - check out what she made with them!

Cori-Lyn was excited to take part in a class with Stencil Girl, a company that we fell in love with when we first opened.  We played with lots of paints, created lots of layers and got messy!  Sadly, both of us forgot a craft scrubbie so my hands look a little loved :)

Our last class of the day was with Elizabeth Crafts.  We got some great ideas for some Teens and Tweens classes (or maybe even a Mom and Me) that will take us out of our scrappy boxes so stay tuned for that!

Tomorrow morning, the show floor opens up so be prepared for a TON of photos!  Also, be sure to follow us on Instagram and Facebook for sneak peeks throughout the day!
